Announcing the winner of the Jay Lake Memorial Scholarship Contest

The essays have been submitted, read, judged, and Paradise Lost, in celebration of his life and dedication to helping other writers, is honored to announce the first ever winner of they Jay Lake Memorial Scholarship contest is:

Spencer Ellsworth

Spencer Ellsworth

Spencer Ellsworth has been writing since he learned how. For inspiration, he’s worked in special education, wilderness survival, and now as an administrator and teacher at a small tribal college in the Lummi Nation outside Bellingham, Washington. His work has been published in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Orson Scott Card’s Intergalactic Medicine Show and many others. He lives in Bellingham, Washington with his wife and three children.

Please help us congratulate Spencer as he will be joining us this year in San Antonio at Paradise Lost V as a participant in the critique track as his prize. Chuck Wendig has promised not to bite him.
